How you can Spot a Fake & Where to Shop

Okay, lets be honest, the reason that the fake and copy industry has boomed over recent years is down to the fact that more and more of people shop online, also they want to be seen in the top designer items but are either unable or unwilling pay the recommended price.

As we all know the manufacturing and also the purchase of fake goods is illegal, however there is the problem that many of the goods online that are sold as originals so how easy is it to spot a fake? The answer is that with a little bit of care, research and a certain amount of commonsense you should be in a position to ensure you do not waste money on fakes.

    Things to Look For

The price, new Louis Vuitton handbag for $100 is not authentic, the real thing often sells for $500 to well over $1000, and this is the same for Prada and Gucci.

Where it is being sold?, authorized dealers for Chanel, LV, etc. do not sell handbags on the online auction sites.

Point of origin tag, designer apparel or leather goods with a “Made in China” tag are not authentic.

Look at the pictures, are these stamped with the makers trademark if not they will probably be fake.

Research the internet, there are loads of forums that will provide you with free advice on what to look for in a fake item, it’s not rocket science.

See what the sellers return policy is, if they are reluctant to provide details or if they only give a minimal time scale then it proves that all they want is to sell an item and they have no interest in providing a good service so their items will probably be fake.

    The Bottom Line

If you want quality product then you will have to pay a little more but it will be money well spent, remember that most of the fake items out there will only last for a short time; they will be made of poor quality materials and will be of poorly made.

Also remember your warranty (IF Any) will not be worth the paper it is printed on, so even though it may say 3 years warranty it is no good at all. Finally, if you buy from a good web site with a good product range ask them the questions, there reply will tell you a lot about the company and its products.
